MEET JEFF
Originally from the west coast, Jeff Anderson grew up in Southern California and the Western part of Washington State. Since childhood, music has been Jeff’s driving passion. “As a child, I remember hearing excellent instrumentation, strong harmonies and passionate singing from both sides of my family. Since my mom was an excellent pianist and vocal coach, and my dad had a beautiful Lyric Tenor voice, music was a huge part of my childhood. Family reunions were always full of singing, playing instruments, creating and performing our own concerts and even doing an occasional rap thanks to my cousins.“ laughs Jeff.
Jeff learned from a young age how to draw inspiration from every genre. “I always listened to a wide variety of music, such as Gospel, R&B and Rock. I even emulated artists such as Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, and Peter Cetera. This helped me develop character and attitude in my voice that exists to this day.” Although his musical tastes were varied, it wasn’t until his Sophomore year of High School that he began to develop a love for classical music. “I had an incredible choral director who really poured a lot into my life and talent. He challenged me to strive for something far greater than I already had. For the first time, I was singing and performing in French, Italian and German and I was now listening to Franco Corelli, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and Mario Lanza (my Dad’s favorite)! And I was falling in love with it!” After training with his mother and aunt, both commercial voice teachers, Jeff decided to study under one of the vocal professors at Seattle Pacific University. Jeff credits this decision with taking his vocal abilities to a new level. “She really helped me to understand my voice and to develop technique that would allow me to reach the goals that I had set for myself.”
Immediately following his high school graduation, Jeff was asked to join an international touring vocal group, based out of Florida. “I had never been to the East Coast before so it was a HUGE leap of faith for me and my family, but, I knew this opportunity would challenge me both musically and personally.” Jeff relocated to Georgia and only four years later, met his beautiful and talented wife Kristen. “My wife is incredibly beautiful and talented in her own right. She’s a fantastic singer and an amazing mother to our two children but her greatest strength is being a women of integrity. She has supported me through every single step and misstep along the way. She truly is my biggest fan!”
For more than twenty years, Jeff has traveled and performed in most of the 50 states, Central and South America, Europe, China and Canada. Beyond performing in concert, Jeff has recorded studio sessions for various artists, as well as lead music for conferences, camps and special events. Some highlights from his career include being a featured vocalist for The Billy Graham Association, Nelson and Farrell’s Oratorio “Saviour”, Millers “Emmanuel”, the NBA, the NHL, the MLB and the NFL.
In 2011, Jeff fulfilled another life-long dream by being asked to be on the vocal line for the “TRUTH 40th Anniversary Tour” with Roger Breland. “TRUTH was the group that I always wanted to sing with. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity then to have traveled with and learned from a musical legend with such integrity, wisdom and knowledge as Roger Breland. It was Roger that introduced the five of us to each other and the next thing you know Veritas was born!”
For Jeff, fame and success were never the goal, but rather, the desire to make a difference in lives and to truly make a statement with the music of Veritas. “Being a man of integrity is not necessarily the “cool” thing to be or even really encouraged these days, but rather living for yourself and doing what it takes to get to the top, no matter what the consequences or who you hurt along the way. We want to help change that. This is truly the heart of Veritas.”
Currently, Jeff resides in Houston, Texas with his wife Kristen, and their two wonderful children, Karissa, and Kage. Apart from his love for music, Jeff is equally passionate about sports. “I pretty much love every sport that there is…except soccer! (as he nudges Jordan, the group’s diehard soccer fan) I am pretty religious, though, about following football, baseball, basketball, tennis, horse racing, water polo….you get the picture! I enjoy studying the game, and watching these players hone their talents. To me that’s artistry at its finest!” When Jeff is not on the road with Veritas, he is either working alongside his wife, supporting his kids and their dreams or cheering on his beloved Washington Huskies, Seattle Seahawks or Mariners.
